Description: All the properties have ample parking, central heating and double-glazing throughout, TV, CD player, video, indoor and outdoor games, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, patio, garden furniture, gas barbecue and garden. A cot and high chair are available, please book in advance. During the fishing season a stretch of river is available, though the fishing has been very poor for the past few years. We have a no smoking policy and accept pets only in the Stables.

Location: In the Cowal Peninsula, Argyll. Only 1.5 hours from Glasgow airport. Nestling in the Glen surrounded by beautiful hills the cottages are the original outbuildings of a traditional 18th century farm, renovated to the highest standard using, where possible, original features and items. Its location makes an ideal base for exploring Cowal, Argyll Forest Park, the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Kintyre, the SW Islands and Glencoe plus easy access via one of the shortest sea ferry crossings in the world to the Island of Bute. A wide variety of walking and cycling is on the doorstep and the cottages are ideally located for the Cowal Way. Transport can be arranged if you'd like to walk stretches of the Cowal Way. Swallows, woodpeckers, lapwings, deer and red squirrels have all been seen in the garden while eagles, ospreys, harrriers, buzzards, otters and seals inhabit the wider area. Cowal boasts numerous Gardens and forest trails, and many activities, e.g. golf, fishing (river and loch), pony trekking, quad-biking, boat trips, are within easy reach. A sailing/windsurfing school is based in Tighnabruaich. The Kilmodan carved stones are 1 mile away in the clachan (village) and the renowned archaeological centre at Kilmartin or historic Iona are a pleasant day trip away. There is a seasonal shop 1 mile away and further shops, banking etc in Tighnabruaich (9 miles), plus a wider range of services in Dunoon (20 miles). There is an excellent choice of restaurants in the area, including the clachan, or dine in on locally produced venison, pheasant, scallops, salmon etc.
