Description: The Steading cottage has recently been refurbished to a high standard with modern kitchen, spacious lounge with open fire (logs provided) and satellite TV, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a single room and a shower/utility room. Facilities: open fire with log provided, oil central heating and hot water, digital TV with video, washing machine and microwave, pay phone, lockup available for bikes and fishing rods etc, easy parking. Location: Ferniehaugh is a beautiful 1500 acre estate situated at the southern end of the Pentland hills. It is ideally situated for visits to Edinburgh (22 miles), Peebles (11 miles), Biggar (8miles) and Lanark. Activities include walks on the estate and in the surrounding countryside; pony trekking nearby; golf at West Linton (3 miles) ; fishing for small trout on our pond; or bring your horse and enjoy riding in lovely hacking country. We are 3 miles from West Linton village where there are shops including an excellent bookshop, a tearoom, good pubs and a very popular restaurant. Come and stay in a beautiful, tranquil setting away from crowds and noise yet only a forty minute drive from Edinburgh and all its attractions. Full or part weeks commencing any day considered subject to availability. |
