There is a large double bedroom, comfortable bed settee, folding bed and a cot. Bedding and bathroom towels are supplied for a small extra charge (not cot linen). A lockable shed is useful for bicycles, muddy boots, fishing gear, pushchairs and there is ample free parking space nearby. The holiday accommodation is located in a quiet sunny position in the conservation area of central Peebles. It is close to all amenities in this lovely Border town, including shops, restaurants, pubs, swimming pool, public golf course, yet is only 20 miles from Edinburgh. Surrounded by hills and situated on the River Tweed it is an ideal centre for walking, fishing, golf, horse riding and cycling. The long distance walking route, the Southern Upland Way, and the long distance cycling route, the Tweed Cycleway, pass near Peebles. The flat is situated near the foot of Venlaw Hill, part of Glentress Forest which is famous for mountain biking and described as the no.1 tourist attraction in the Borders. Neidpath Castle is within walking distance and the historic Traquair House only a short drive away. Nearby Dawyck Botanic Gardens and Kailzie Gardens are worth visiting at all times of the year. Peebles is an excellent centre for exploring the houses, gardens, woollen mills and craft centres throughout the Borders. Tourist information and local books are provided for guest’s use. |
