Carmarthenshire: where you can explore at a gentle pace the National Botanic Garden of Wales, set in in the 18th century parkland of the former Middleton Hall, or perhaps spend the day at Pumsaint Gold Mines and wear a miner's helmet and lamp while touring the underground workings. This is the only place in Britain where the Romans mined gold. Carmarthen Museum housed in the old palace of the Bishop of St David's and set in the seven acres of grounds.
