Bowerland

Description: Peace, comfort and informal four star luxury await you in an ancient farm courtyard on Dartmoor’s doorstep. Centrally placed in a tranquil setting in its own grounds, it provides an ideal base, whatever your inclinations! Whether you are looking for places of interest, activities or relaxation, the choice is yours! We are particularly well- placed for walking, cycling, fishing and golf, and are currently offering a two-for-one golfing package that is of great interest to beginners as well as the semi-pro! Courtyard cottages sleep 2 - 4, and are open all year, offering short breaks out of season. The Farmhouse sleeps 10-14 with annex, and is available during high seasons. Dogs welcome by arrangement. Mel and Ray assure you of a warm welcome and are usually available on site to to advise or assist if needed.

Location: Superbly located in the lovely peaceful country just beneath the drama of Dartmoor, Bowerland offers a wealth of opportunities for touring, walking, riding, cycling, golf, tennis, a good range of pub and other food plus a choice of either coast, depending on whim! From Exeter follow the A30 westwards. Take the next turn-off after Okehampton, signed A386 Tavistock and Hatherleigh. Turn right at the bottom of the slip road, back under the A30, and continue for about a mile, passing a Little Chef and a Shell garage on your left. Soon you will see a small crossroads signed Bowerland and Meldon. Turn left and follow the lane down for ½ mile, and you will find us on the right. To reach the Moor, simply retrace your steps back up this lane, cross the A386 and head for Meldon, about 2 miles away. From the car park, you can strike off for a short amble around the beautiful Meldon reservoir, or strike off in several directions for a more robust hike!
