Valley Springs

Description: The Dovecote Cottage is the latest to be converted and built during the winter of 2005. A large 3 bedroom, 2 bath/shower cottage, with bags of natural light and space. On the ground floor is a large open plan sitting room and kitchen, where guests can dine or relax en-famille. There is also a downstairs double bedroom, tastefully designed for the disabled, with a bathroom next door. Included is a lovely covered verandah, with panoramic views facing due south, boasting a BBQ al fresco area. On the first floor are 2 character double bedrooms, with one en-suite. The decor is light and airy with a coastal influence, sensitively combining natural materials with modern design. There is also a indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, fishing and shooting facilities are also available to all guests.

Location: Valley Springs is situated in a designated area of natural beauty. Wild flora and fauna abound. Spring and Autumn see migration flights, the osprey arrives, catches a few trout and then leaves. Otters play and feel, badgers and foxes live in peace. This private valley is home to many common buzzards, and at night, barn owls hunt their prey. Because we use no sprays or chemicals, a variety of wild flowers and butterflies flourish. Rose Campion and Water Iris line our lakes, as do the King-cups, and in the woodland king ferns grow naturally. Valley Springs has delightful, sunny open gardens, floodlit at night. The mild climate of South Devon, warmed by the Gulf Steam, and virtually frost-free winters, encourages sub-tropical, tender and rare plants thrive. This combined with traditional plants and shrubs, make it a gardener's delight. We have 46 acres all together, with a nature trail that meanders through a beautiful bluebell and sweet chestnut wood and down to a babbling brook and the fishing lakes. Valley Springs lies just inland from Slapton Sands and its well known Ley Nature Reserve and between the market town of Kingsbridge and Salcombe.
