Description: The cottage was completely rebuilt in 1997 in local stone with exposed beams. There are two bedrooms each with two single beds, one upstairs and one on the ground floor. Along with the living/dining room there are uninterrupted views across the fields. There is a T.V, DVD player and music centre in the living room. The kitchen has a cooker, microwave, washing machine and refrigerator. There is a separate WC and a large shower on the ground floor. The small patio and garden area faces west with views of the stream. Directions: Travelling west on the A303, take the first road left after the A30, signposted Axminster and Stockland. After approximately six miles, take the left turn signposted Dalwood. At the bottom of the hill, go straight over the crossroads. Drive through the village and over the bridge. After half a mile, turn left to Heathstock, and the Cider House will be found a further quarter of a mile on the left in a field adjacent to The Barn, Lower Corry Farm. Location: The Cider House is a detached cottage in a designated area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' only seven miles from the Jurassic Coast. Dalwood is a small village on the Corry Brook with a church and pub dating back to the 14th century. There are hedgerows everywhere that are full of flowers from February to August and provide shelter for a many birds and animals. For ramblers the South West Coastal Path along the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, is twenty minutes away by car. There are also miles of local footpaths. The parish of Stockland, where the cottage is situated, is said to have among the highest number of footpaths in the country. Beaches close by include Seaton, Lyme Regis and Charmouth, famous for fossils, Branscombe and Sidmouth. |
