Description: 18th Century, Grade II listed, thatched house situated in village square. This house was the village shop for nearly 100 years and has large shop windows in the spacious living room. There is a double and twin room on the first floor with a single bed settee in the living room. The large Venetian window in the main bedroom offers the perfect place to sit with a morning cup of tea and watch the world go by. The kitchen and dining area are on the lower floor where the original wine bins from the olden days are a feature. The house was decorated and refurbished in 2002 and offers a comfortable base from which to explore this lovely part of Dorset. Unfortunately we do not accept smokers or pets in the house. Location: Puddletown is situated 4 miles east of Dorchester, the County town of Dorset, and features as Weatherbury in the Thomas Hardy novels. You can easily reach the beaches at Weymouth and Poole, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Hardy's birthplace, forest walks, Lulworth Cove, Lyme Regis and the Heritage Coastline. You must also go and feed the Puddletown ducks on the river who have the most amazing feather hats!! This house really is unique and must be seen! We look forward to welcoming you to this lovely part of Dorset. |
