Description: Each cottage has oil or gas central heating and double glazing is extensively used. All windows have uninterrupted views over National Trust land and the Purbeck hills towards the sea. Much of the character of the 17th century barns has been retained throughout. The interior has been professionally designed, including the soft furnishings in silk, velvet and chintz. Antique furniture is extensively used, together with objects d’art from days gone by. Throughout the first floor, the original ships timbers and beams have been retained. These have been enhanced by the addition of “hand-made” doors, old barn doors and quarry-tile sills, the whole, resulting in a highly imaginative Barn conversion into four individual cottages. In fact, the ultimate in self catering accommodation. Location: Set on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, near Ringstead Bay and Burning Cliff lies Upton Farm. You will be greeted in every direction with views over rolling countryside, a rugged coast and scenic coves. Nestling amongst the hills in a quiet hamlet, overlooking National Trust land and a short stroll from cliffs and coves, are some 17th century stone barns situated around the original courtyard. This attractive barn conversion has many original features, such as King Post Roof Trusses, Ships Timbers and stone walls, giving each cottage its own individual character. There are unrivalled opportunities to enjoy superb walking, breathtaking scenery and a choice of glorious beaches and coves. |
