Location: The park is situated in the countryside, but with shops, pubs and restaurants a short distance away in nearby villages. It is located on the A833, 6 miles from Beauly and 7 miles from Drumnadrochit, 14 miles south-west of Inverness. It is only a 15-minute drive from Loch Ness. There is plenty to see and do in the area: visit romantic castles, such as Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness; take a cruise on Loch Ness, or a boat-trip in the Moray Firth to see the dolphins. Visit distilleries (Glen Ord and Glenmorangie are among the nearest). There are many activities available: pony-trekking, fishing (trout and salmon), golf (several golf courses), quad-biking, cycling, and hill and forest walks. There is magnificent mountain scenery in the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve and the other glens in the area, while the park itself enjoys views north to Ben Wyvis and the Easter Ross hills. The park is also an ideal touring base, with easy access to the A9 and the A82 for trips to Skye, Ben Nevis or John O'Groats and the north coast.
