Description: Situated above the farm and fenced in its own grounds, the stone-built 17th century cottage has good views of Glen Nevis. The old stone barn across the drive has been converted into a licensed restaurant and walker’s bar. The cottage has a particularly traditional atmosphere including a real fire. There is one double bedroom, a Lounge / Kitchen with open fire, TV, CD player, settee, cooker, microwave, and fridge and a Bathroom with bath, shower, sink, and toilet. Oil filled radiators in each room keep the cottage cosy and warm. Good drying rooms. Laundry included. Free WiFi Access at the Farm House. Electricity, linen and wood/coal included. Own Garden and Private Parking. No pets. Location: Sitting in Glen Nevis, above the river, and at the start of the Ben Nevis footpath, Achintee is a special experience. You can amble up the Glen, lounge by the burn, gaze at the hills, or exhaust yourself scrambling on the surrounding tops and ridges. Mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, golfing, and skiing are all available locally. You can rely on our local knowledge for advice and guidance. Only a mile and a half from Fort William, Achintee is centrally located for day trips to, for example, Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye, and the white sandy beaches of Morar. Take the steam train to Mallaig, a boat trip to Seal Island, or a cablecar ride up a mountain. |
