Description: You really do expect a butler to greet you at the front door when you first enter this apartment. Its Edwardian style reminds you of the reason this era was known as the Belle Epoque (meaning beautiful era). A staircase from the front door leads you to a central balcony off which all the rooms lead. The (very) large lounge looks out onto the Castle rock and up to Edinburgh Castle itself. You feel like you can almost touch it! This apartment has 4 bedrooms (3 doubles, 1 single) and 3 bathrooms and a most beautiful free standing kitchen with dining table. Facilities The large Drawing Room looks up to Edinburgh Castle. It retains many of the original features including the original fireplace. The room is equipped with cable TV, DVD and a Hi-Fi system. There is also a selection of books, DVDs and CDs for your enjoyment. The large free-standing Kitchen has a large oak dining table and chairs and is equipped with a gas hob and electric oven, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer, dish washer and washing machine. Double Bedroom 1 is extremely spacious and has a zip and link super kingsize bed allowing flexibility with either a super-kingsize or twin beds - just let us know your requirements. There is an en-suite showerroom off this bedroom. This room has many quaint windows that look onto the Castle. Double Bedrooms 2 and 3 face to the side of the property and have a kingsize bed and double bed respectively. Bedroom 2 also has an en-suite showerroom. The Single Bedroom looks out to the Castle. All bedrooms have hairdriers and radio alarms provided. The Main Bathroom retains its rolltop bath with claw feet. Location: The property is located off Lothian Road and and on the corner of Castle Terrace just 5 minute's walk from the West End of Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping fare. It is also a 5 minute walk to the heart of the Old Town. It is ideally located for theatre and cinema with the Usher Hall, Lyceum Theatre and the Traverse all within a minute's walk. The Filmhouse (showing foreign and arthouse movies) and the Odeon are just 2 minutes away. Princes Street Gardens (5 minutes walk) provides excellent free entertainment in the form of concerts throughout the summer months. For those wanting to venture further afield the bus station and both train stations are withing easy walking distance (15 minutes). Given its proximity to Princes Street the property has easy access to all areas of Edinburgh either on foot or via the excellent bus services in the city. There are a number of excellent and varied local restaurants and pavement cafes within a stroll of the front door - enjoy!. |
