Description: Glebe farm cottages is a recently converted, Victorian barn development of five 4 star cottages. They are set around a landscaped central courtyard with lavenders and a 100 year old olive tree each with their own private garden. Glebe farm itself is a 110acre working arable, beef and lavender farm, 6 miles east of Nottingham centre in the picturesque river Trent valley. The fields surround the cottages and are abundant with wildlife: You may even see a badger at night or one of our resident ,herons, ducks or kingfishers. The cottages are ideally suited for visiting close by Sherwood forest (30 minutes), the ancient market towns of Newark (30 minutes), Southwell Minster (10 minutes) and Lincoln cathedral (45 minutes).Alternatively why not spend some time enjoying shopping or the sporting facilities in nearby Nottingham city (15 minutes) .The national water sports centre, Ice stadium and international cricket and Tennis centre are a few of the excellent venues close by. If you simply want to just relax, enjoy the endless riverside walks on your doorstep. If you just want to chill ,soak up the tranquility of the surroundings, the scent of the Lavender, and our very own TRENT VALLEY TOILETRIES and even have a relaxing aromatherapy and reflexology massage in your cottage by Cathy, your host and onsite qualified Aroma therapist. There are five cottages to choose from, either one, two or three bed roomed. Four of the cottages have ground floor bedrooms and shower rooms whilst the fifth has first floor bedrooms and bathroom. Each one has been tastefully decorated and furnished. All are equipped to an extremely high standard with under floor central heating, modern well equipped kitchen, spacious lounge diner and own garden and patio furniture. Ideal for business and holiday lets, short and weekend breaks. Location: How To Find Us - We are situated at the end of the 800metre farm track which leads of peck lane in the village of Gunthorpe Nottingham. Gunthorpe is approx 6 miles east of Nottingham on the A6097, 2 miles from Bingham 11 miles south of Newark off the A46 and approx 12 miles from Belvoir Castle taking the A52. From the south M1 Northbound; Take the A46 off the M1 just north of Leicester direction Newark. Continue north on the A46, around the Leicester bypass for approx 20 miles. Take the A6097 at the Bingham roundabout for 1 mile. Gunthorpe village is immediately over the river Trent Bridge on the right. Turn into the village and proceed up the main street. Peck lane is the third on the right. Proceed to the end of peck lane and turn on to the farm track where you see the welcome sign to Glebe farm cottages. We are at the end of the 800metre track. Turn into the Guest car park, park your car in the allocated place and ring the bell for attention. From the South; A1 northbound. Turn off the A1 at Grantham on to the A52 direction Nottingham. Proceed for 18 miles until you reach the A46 roundabout at Bingham. Turn right, direction Newark for I mile to the next roundabout. Take the first left direction Doncaster on the A6097 for 2 miles, through the traffic lights and over the river Trent Bridge at Gunthorpe. Turn immediately right into the village. Proceed up the main street. Peck lane is the third on your right. From the North; take the A6097 which leads off the A614 off the A1. Continue along the A6097, over the roundabout at Lowdham, until you reach the “TOTAL” petrol station. Turn left into Gunthorpe village. Peck lane is the fourth on the left, the second turning past the church. From the West Midlands; M42 or A50; Take the A453 at Junction 23a of the M1 direction Nottingham. At Clifton follow the signs A52 direction Grantham. At The roundabout at Bingham, the junction with the A46, turn left direction Newark. At the next roundabout 1 mile take the A6097 direction Doncaster for two miles until you reach the river Trent Bridge at Gunthorpe. Turn right into the village and up the main street. Take the third on your right which is peck lane. From the East; take the A46 south of Newark and proceed for approx 10 miles until you reach the roundabout at Bingham. Take the A6097 Direction Doncaster for 2 miles. Cross the river Trent and turn |
