Description: The cottage is set in the large garden of the Old Hall, by the southern shore of the Island of Hoy with panoramic views over Scapa Flow and across the Pentland Firth to Scotland. It has been recently completely renovated and is fully equipped to provide comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. The cottage is accessible for wheelchair users and guests with limited mobility, with level entry shower and support rails. The sandy beach at Kirkhope Bay is just five minutes walk away, there's a choice of pubs serving food and the village of Longhope offers a well stocked general store. Hoy's unspoilt natural environment is ideal for a holiday 'away from it all' offering visitors many areas of natural beauty and sites of historical and archaeological interest. Location: Via regular car ferry from Houton on the Orkney Mainland to Lyness (approx. 30 mins crossing) and then approx. 7 miles from Lyness to Longhope OR, from Stromness on the Orkney Mainland to Moaness (foot passengers only) and then approx. 15 miles by local taxi to Longhope. |
