The Noost

Description: The flat is all on one level and can be accessed from either the front or rear of the property. The all-electric flat comprises an original beamed, open-plan living room with a sofa bed and a comfortable sitting area. There's also a fully equipped kitchen/dining area. The bathroom contains a shower cubicle (with grab-rail), wash-hand basin and toilet, with a heated towel rail. Adjacent is a utility room with an automatic washing machine, storage and a drying rack. The double bedroom has two single beds. There's also two full-sized single box bunk-beds in a sleeping recess off from the living room. Adjacent is a cloakroom area with extra storage and hanging space. To the rear is a wee sheltered sit-ooterie patio garden, which catches the evening sun, a perfect place to relax after a day oot an aboot. There's access to a drying area and an under-cover area for drying clothes on those rare not-so-dry days! Hot water to the bathroom and kitchen sinks is supplied free of charge by the owner. There is a coin-in-the-slot meter to cover the cost of heating, electric shower and all other electricity used.

Location: Six miles from the main hub Kirkwall, Vindlyse is an old traditional Merchant's house facing the sea. The owner, a local artist, offers tuition and studio space by arrangement. The ground floor flat is set in the lovely village of St.Mary's, although, without a direct sea view it is easily accessed front and rear. The old fishing village is charming and peaceful and within easy reach of the Churchill Barrier, the Italian chapel and beautiful beaches. There's a small harbour used by local creel fishermen and the sailing club. A small shop/post office, a pub and restaurant, an art gallery/shop.
