Description: Facilities Include: The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard including Gas hob, Electric fan oven, Microwave, Fridge and freezer, Washing machine. Sitting Room: In the comfortable sitting room overlooking the sea and with an open fire, you will find reference and local books, as well as maps and tourist information to help you enjoy to the full your visit to Orkney. For relaxation at home, there are DVD and VCR as well as digital television and radio/CD player and some board games. Bedrooms: Upstairs the two bedrooms sleep five with a double bed in one room and three singles in the second room. Wash basins in both rooms, Ample clothes storage, Linen is supplied free of charge. Bathroom: In the bathroom there is a full suite including bidet and separate shower cubicle. Parking: Cars can be loaded/unloaded outside the house in Front Road. Off road parking is available in nearby Cromarty Square. Location: Leith's is an attractive stone-built waterfront house looking out over beautiful St Margaret's Hope Bay towards the pier and Burray island. Features of the once prosperous tailor's and draper’s business known as A Leith remain in the sympathetic conversion. Today Leith's is quiet and peaceful, yet within easy reach of all village amenities as well as ferry and bus services. The house promises to be a welcoming and comfortable home for your stay in the Orkney Islands. The house is behind The Craft Workshop and Loft Gallery, which occupies the separate shop premises facing onto Front Road and is a showcase for many different local crafts. You will reach the house door through a private gate at the side of the building. The door opens into the kitchen, where the old shop counters and pine-lined walls are a reminder of the house’s history. The adjacent dining area provides a relaxed setting for family meals and informal entertaining - Orkney offers many local specialities from fresh shellfish and premium Orkney Gold beef to traditional beremeal bannocks and oatcakes. Next door, the spacious sitting room has an open fire, and deep windows overlooking boats in the bay and views of the Scapa Flow beyond. Upstairs there are two light and quiet bedrooms which between them sleep 5 people. Outside there is a secluded paved yard, looking out over the sea, perfect for summer barbecues or a sheltered play area. |
