Description: Hawthorn Cottage dates back to at least 1785 and was previously a croft cottage on the Breadalbane Estate and came into private ownership in 1922. Stone built, under a slate roof, comprising a double bedroom, plus a twin bedroom upstairs. All beds have modern fitted electric blankets. A cot and high chair can be made available if required. Centrally heated by off peak electric storage and panel heaters. The sitting room also has an open fireplace with stove effect heating, plus colour TV, VCR, DVD, hifi and board games, a library selection of books, magazines, videos and CD's. The kitchen/diner is all electric and includes washing machine, tumbler drier, fridge, freezer, microwave etc. Water is heated by off peak immersion heater with boost if required. Bathroom includes electric shower. Outside cottage to the front, has space for 3 cars off road parking and to the rear, a large enclosed garden, with garden furniture, barbecue and clothes drying facility. Access to 4 acre paddock to rear of property is available for exercising pets, which are welcome. Fine views of Loch Tay from the paddock. No immediate dwellings near the cottage, other than the owners house, but a good degree of privacy can be obtained. The price includes all bed and kitchen linen, but please bring your own towels. These may be hired in special cases, e.g. foreign visitors. Electricity is charged by meter reading. a minimum of 10% deposit is required with balance to be paid on departure day. Sorry no credit card facility. Arrive after 2 pm and depart no later than 11 a.m.

Location: Fearnan Village lies on the north shore of Loch Tay, 3 miles west of Kenmore and 10 miles approx from the small town of Aberfeldy. Being in the heart of Scotland, gives access to many areas and day visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fort William, Oban, Inverness and Dundee can all be made easily in a day's trip. Locally, the picturesque village of Fortingall is only 1.5 miles distant; this being the home of the Fortingall Yew (reputably the oldest living tree in Europe). Glen Lyon, visible from the garden, is the longest glen in Scotland and possibly the prettiest and provides wonderfull walks and hill climbing. Kenmore has a well stocked shop, post office, hotel, marina, bistro, church and golf course. The fair trade, small town of Aberfeldy has a golf course, putting green, swimming pool,distillery and art galleries.
