There is fantastic walking and cycling opportunities around the cottage and many places to visit. Snowdonia National Park is 15 minutes away, the centre for alternative technology is also around 15 minutes away. There is also the RSPB reserve of Ynis Hir close by. Local activities include quad biking, horse riding and beach horse riding, shooting and paintball all available locally. Lake Bala is around 40 minutes away and offers beautiful scenery, set around a large lake with boating, swimming and fishing available here. There is also a large modern leisure centre here. Bala offers lots of opportunities for walking and cycling. Machynlleth is the nearest town at 7 miles, and offers an excellent base, with Shops, supermarket, art gallery, cafes, restaurants, pubs and a leisure centre. With the coast only a 25-minute drive away there are a few different resorts to choose from. Aberdovey 25 minutes drive, which offers the long beach on the estuary, harbour and yacht club, pubs restaurants and golf course. Borth around 25 minutes drive also offers long and wide sandy beaches and sand dunes to bathe and play in. a visitors centre for the kids a small animal centre, beach horse rides and cafes and pubs. Aberystwyth is around 30 minutes away and is a large shopping town with promenade along the beach, donkey rides, plentiful cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops to chose from.
