It is close to the sea with beautiful views overlooking the marina at the head of Aithsvoe. On site parking is available. Aiths Voe is noted for its excellent trout fishing, the water being half salt and half fresh due to freshwater burns, no permit is required. In the summer of last year Cunningsburgh has been mentioned in the local paper as an exceptional viewing area for passing schools of Killer Whales. Picturesque coastal walks are to be had nearby at the point of Helliness giving excellent views south to Mousa and north to Lerwick and Bressay. Information on walks and points of intrest in the area can be found in Peter Guy's book Walking in the South Mainland (supplied). A well stocked grocery store is nearby. Our weekly newspaper The Shetland Times will keep you informed about activities and entertainment for the following week. |
