Description: Rhubarb Cottage is a Grade II listed, 17th Century terraced cottage set in the heart of Suffolk overlooking the village green. Sympathetically restored with the comforts of modern living whilst retaining much of the character of a bygone age. Lots of beams and quirky windows coupled with a log fire all add to its charm. Ground Floor First Floor The cottage sits in a large garden, with lawns to the front and a delightfully sunny, secluded, enclosed rear garden. Garden furniture and BBQ provided. Electric storage radiators to all rooms. Cot, highchair, bed linen included. No smoking. One well behaved pet welcome. Open March - December Location: Located in the village of Great Finborough just 2 miles from Stowmarket, a pleasant market town, providing shops restaurants and supermarkets. The local pub is opposite the cottage, a two-minute stroll across the Green! Other longer walks lead from the village into the surrounding countryside; we particularly like the walk across the fields to the next village, Buxhall, where there is a great pub for lunch! Many places of interest lie within easy reach, mediaeval Lavenham, Long Melford with its stately homes, Constable country at Flatford and the many picturesque Suffolk villages. Nearby Cambridge with its colleges and historic Bury St Edmunds are excellent for shopping and sightseeing, or you can try the racing at Newmarket. Slightly further afield lies the unspoilt Suffolk Heritage Coastline including the RSPB reserve at Minsmere. |
