Thatcher's Cottage

This quintessential thatched country cottage is just 20 minutes from the Heritage Coast. Built in the 16th Century, this Grade II listed house is set in large gardens, with open rural views and big Suffolk skies.

The cottage has been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen and tastefully furnished, the comforts of modern living blending with the charm of a bygone age. Beautifully beamed rooms, 3 double bedrooms, log fire, sunroom, oak floors, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped country kitchen all add to the charm.

Thatcher's Cottage offers peace and quiet and a chance to get away from it all! And when venturing out good walking, cycling, golf and horse riding are at hand and the Heritage Coast, historic castles, Norfolk Broads, Norwich and Constable Country are all within easy reach.

Laxfield village is just 1.5 miles from the cottage, there is a good cycle route and a great walk across the fields a perfect to work up an appetite for lunch at one of the two village pubs. Our personal favourite, The King’s Head (or Low House as it is known locally) is Egon Ronay recommended, has great food and a lovely garden. The village also has a convenience store, which is open 7 days a week and a post office.
