Suffolk: From seaside resorts to pretty villages, with the hustle of ferry ports to Europe. British culture, reflected in the arts, and enterprise mix in this county. From the seaside fishing town of Lowestoft along the East Coast of England small towns follow the coastline until the dramatic spit of Orford is reached. From medieval England to the present day Bury St Edmunds is steeped in the rise and fall of English history. Aldeburgh, once a busy, thriving port, this town has suffered storm damage and coastal erosion, but is still a fishing port to this day. The 16th century Moot Hall once stood in the town centre, now its on the sea wall! Many musical connections, Benjamins Britten's Peter Grimes was set here and Britten and Peter Pears, the singer and Britten's friend, are buried in the church yard.
