Perfectly situated for family days out, the cottages offer an ideal base from which to tour the surrounding areas - with plenty to do and see in all directions. The ancient bustling city of York, the North Yorks Moors National Park , Castle Howard, "Heartbeat Country" and the Moors Steam Railway are all within 30 minutes' drive A little further afield are the delights of "Herriot's Dales" and the Yorkshire coast. This area is richly endowed by delightful English Heritage and National Trust sites, with many castles, abbeys and stately homes to explore. Swimming, horse riding, golf and fishing are all available nearby. Many excellent pubs and restaurants are within a short drive.
