Location:
There are several exceptional golf courses available from rolling parkland to testing 9-holers, all within a half hour drive - and Gleneagles is only over the hill! Taymouth Castle golf course is an exceptional rolling parkland course. Testing nine holes at Kenmore, Strathtay and Killin are all within a half hour drive. Other activities include hill walking and bird watching. Species to look out for include the golden eagle, gold crest, gold finch and the golden eye. The Loch and River Tay also offer the opportunity for many water pursuits including white water rafting, water skiing and canoeing. Snow skiing is available when the weather is suitable at either Glenshee or Glencoe. For those less committed to outdoor pursuits, Blair Castle, Menzies Castle, Dunkeld Cathedral or Pitlochry Theatre, together with several small distilleries, are all within easy reach. The central position of Loch Tay Lodges permits the leisurely discovery of the wildly differing delights of Scotland's east and west coasts - both are an easy day trip by car.
