Carol and Mark Seymour who live in this old L-shaped farmhouse have converted one wing, a former barn, to make spacious self-catering rental accommodation which can sleep 6 or 7 persons in considerable comfort, making this a wonderful holiday cottage. Carol is a florist, and she and Mark have surrounded the farmhouse with lovely gardens of roses, lawns, flower beds and shrubs. The gardens are made extra special by the wonderful views over the Carse of Stirling towards the Trossachs and southern Highlands. In fact from the sitting room of the barn itself there are often spectacular panoramic sunsets behind 3000 foot Ben Lomond. There is a long and spacious room downstairs with windows on both sides. At one end is the living room (top picture, right), the other the kitchen with dining table (bottom picture, right). The kitchen has a cooker, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. A door opens on one side onto the gravel courtyard (where martins nest under eaves in summer), and the french windows on the other open onto your own part of Thorntree Barn‘s lawns (with patio and garden seats), and gives access to your own private parking area.

Upstairs there are three twin bedded rooms. These are furnished just as you would find at home and some have nice antique furniture to match the quality of the Living room downstairs. All three bedrooms are furnished as twins. Two rooms have ziplink beds that will convert to a double bed. One room has a private shower room and WC. The third bedroom has a full sized pull down bed and can sleep three if you need an extra bed. There is a further bathroom and seperate WC upstairs. We do limit the number of visitors to the number of beds we have. So a maximum of 7 persons can be accommodated at Thorntree. The whole accommodation is centrally heated and has its own boiler. Thorntree now has WiFi Broadband connection. We have a mobile phone for hire at a nominal charge if you do not have one of your own and need a telephone whilst you are staying with us.

Thorntree Barn is in the hills above Flanders Moss, midway between Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Stirling, in central Scotland, on the southern edge of the Highlands - perfect for a self catering holiday in Scotland. Arnprior village is on the edge of the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park and is close to the Lake of Menteith, Scotland’s only lake. We are within one hour of Edinburgh and Glasgow, making this an ideal base for visiting Scotland’s major cities, as well as all the major tourist attractions and sites.
