Description:
Craigview Cottage is a stone built house in the centre of the village. Flat 3 occupies the whole upper floor (there are 2 smaller flats on the ground floor). There are 3 bedrooms which sleep 7. The master bedroom has a double bed and en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has twin beds while the third has a single bed and 2 bunks (6’3”x2’6”) suitable only for children. Each bed has a duvet, blanket and 2 pillows per person. There is a cot with mattress, but no bedding, stored in the master bedroom and also a high chair. Each of the 2 bathrooms has an electric shower and shaver point. The Kitchen/Dining Room is equipped for 7/8 people. The Sitting Room has Colour TV, VCR and DVD player.
Location:
Boat of Garten lies in the acclaimed Cairngorms National Park. It is a quiet village 6 miles from Aviemore and 10 miles from Grantown. Near Craigview are the Post Office/General Store with foreign newspapers and currency exchange and the Boat Hotel which offers bar meals and formal dining. The new Village Hall at the entrance to the village coming from the Aviemore direction was opened in 2007. There is a fine new restaurant (Anderson’s) about halfway between Craigview and the Hall and a toddlers’ playground beside the Hall.
We are not far from the famous Boat of Garten Golf Club, The Strathspey Steam Railway and the River Spey.
