Description:
The Forge Cottage was completed for the 2002 season. It was developed from the workshop where there was a forge which was used until very recently. Many horseshoes and old pieces of machinery were unearthed when every thing was eventually removed form the workshop. The living area is carefully organised to utilise all the space well. It contains a comprehensive kitchen area, dining table and studio couch (converts into a comfy double bed) as well as a wood burning stove (which is easy to use). The large bedroom contains a comfortable pine double bed and wardrobe and still has sufficient space to hold a cot or Z bed. The tiled bathroom contains a bath/shower. The heating is provided by a combi-boiler. All heating, electricity and linen are included.
Location:
We are just north of the village of Castleside off the A68. Heading towards Corbridge as you leave Castleside going passed the Fleece Inn on your left, then in 300 yards turn left down a small lane, sign posted Derwent Grange. Follow the road steeply down round tight Z bends, over a bridge and through a gate (close if it is closed). Climb up and past a wood on your right, the farm is then on your right.
