Location:
In Designated National Scenic Area in a stunning location 80 yards from the seashore with private beach access, and located in the traditional crofting village of Melvaig near Gairloch. The nearby Melvaig Inn has a bar/restaurant and is close to the beach, where there is also a slipway for launching boats. The coastline around Melvaig and to the Rua Reidh Lighthouse, is rugged; a haven for nesting birds, seals, whales, basking sharks and otters. The area's attractions include whale-watching and marine life trips, salmon, sea trout, brown trout, pike and sea fishing, bird-watching, falconry courses, golf course, pony trekking, swimming pool, bike and car hire, deer-stalking and deer museum, guided hill walks and guided climbing. Also sea kayaking, and boat trips on Loch Maree to view the Viking graves, and the famous Inverewe Gardens.
