Traditional cottage located in a peaceful cul-de-sac off Kirkcudbright's historic High Sreet. This pretty cottage sleeps six. For those who prefer not to climb stairs there is a downstairs double bedroom with a shower/wc close by. Upstairs there is a twin room (2 single beds) which can be converted into a kingsize bed (5ft) if required. The third bedroom has fullsize bunkbeds. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom. The well-equipped kitchen has a dining table with seating for 6. In addition to the sittingroom with TV/DVD/stereo there is a sunroom with TV (for viweing DVDs only) and a collection of games. Outside there is a patio area with furniture for outdoor dining and a barbecue. There is also a small lawn area and parking space for 1 car. The garden area is not fenced.
Location:
It is no coincidence that so many artists have chosen Kirkcudbright as their place of residence. Everywhere you turn there is a view worthy of painting and the town has changed little in the past 200 years so retains much of its original charm. Rattra Cottage is in a wonderful location right in the centre of Kirkcudbright within walking distance of shops, restaurants and pubs. In the High Street itself you will find galleries, craftshops, artists studios, a close leading to the marina and riverside views. There is also a 16th century castle just around the corner opposite the harbour. A range of facilities are available in the town such as a swimming pool and golf course and a little further afield there are a number of beautiful beaches and many activities to keep visitors busy whatever the weather.
