Levisham Station House

Levisham Station House is a heritage haven on the most remote station of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The lovingly restored former Station Masterís house offers a chance for guests to step back in time for a unique holiday experience. The house is furnished to reflect the pre war era, but with discretely added mod cons for guests convenience. Guests enjoy temporary membership of the NYMR, with discounted travel on the regular steam train service.

Accommodation includes a double ensuite bedroom (with an optional extra single bed) and twin bedroom, both with stunning views of the trains and station. The former ticket office alongside the northbound platform doubles as a day room or bedroom with large double sofa bed. The first floor bathroom has a traditional style suite and electric shower. Cook on the Rayburn, wash up in the butler's sink, and dine off old china (or use the mod cons hidden in the pantry!).

Central heating is supplemented with a woodburner in the sitting room. Fully working features such as the wind-up gramophone, Bakelite telephone and harmonium add nostalgia, but for those who cannot fully escape the 21st century there is TV and WiFi.

Visitors have sole use of the private back garden and driveway, and share the front garden alongside the railway with Station House owner Mr Ware senior and his artist son Chris, who works in the adjacent art studio (see
