Description:
Woodside Cottage is situated in Glenbuchat, a secluded Highland Glen which even has its own ruined castle. It is in the east of the Cairngorms National Park, 45 miles, a one hour drive west from Aberdeen. (airport and rail). The cottages is accessed by private tarred road and is in an elevated position giving wonderful views to the south from all its windows and convenient patio. The cottage can sleep up to six people in one double, one twin and a sofa bed in the living area. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. It is fully equipped and fuel is supplied to light the stove on chilly winter nights as well as oil fired central heating. Woodside Cottage is within easy reach of a wealth of visitor attractions such as the Whisky Trail in Speyside, the CastleTrail in Grampian and the Coastal Trail which includes the Moray Firth where dolphins are often seen. Royal Deeside is only 20 miles away where you can visit Balmoral and the delightful village of Ballater. Walking and wildlife are on the doorstep. Roe and red deer, buzzards and red squirrels are common among many other species. The nearest skiing is at the Lecht, 12 miles away and Glenshee and Cairngorm ski areas near enough for a days visit. Local Spar shop and post office 5 miles, pubs with meals 3 and 5 miles. More varied facilities such as supermarket, banks, chemists etc are found in Alford or Aboyne each a half hours drive away. Woodside Cottage is an ideal base to explore from and a haven of peace and quiet to return to.
Location:
Situated within the Eastern side of the Cairngorm National Park the Cottage occupies an elevated site with stunning views of the Grampian mountains. This central location allows visitors to explore the coastline and mountains of Scotland and to sample various activities and of course the Scottish food and liquid refreshments!.
