Dogs Welcome - No Smoking. Talamh Ur (Gaelic words for New Earth) is a spacious, well equipped holiday cottage on one level with the following accommodation sleeps 6/7. There are four well appointed bedrooms, two double one of which is en suite with a king-size bed and two single rooms one of which can be a twin. All rooms have fitted wardrobes. In addition to the en suite there is the main bathroom with shower etc. and a further cloakroom in rear entrance hall adjoining the utility area equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer. The main living/lounge area is spacious and well appointed with comfortable suite and open fire. A large TV, DVD player and a selection of books, games and DVD\'s are also provided. The large windows look out on magnificent views across the Little Minch past Dunvegan Head to the Outer Hebrides and down to Lochbay toward the distant Cuillins. The fully equipped kitchen has an adjoining dining area with electric cooker, dishwasher, and microwave. The property is entered by way of a tarmac drive with ample parking. The extensive garden is mainly lawn with a paved sitting out area with picnic table looking out to the beautiful sea views and sunsets.
Location:
The cottage is situated in a quiet area of Upper Halistra - the northern part of Waternish near Ardmore Point where we breed white highland cattle. Nearby is the site of a famous clan battle between the Macleods and Macdonalds, with the ruins of Trumpan Church as testament of the misdeeds of the past. Ardmore Point is also home to Ardmore Wines your local wine merchant where an extensive range of wines and spirits are available by appointment. There are some fine walks nearby - to Waternish Point and lighthouse where you may see dolphins, whales and sea eagles and forestry walks. Lochbay seafood restaurant and Stein Inn (the oldest inn on Skye) set in the picturesque village of Stein are just a few minutes drive by car or for the active a 30/40 minute walk (local taxis are available). The nearest shops and post office are in Dunvegan 20 mins by car and for supermarket, banks etc. Portree 45 mins.
