Location:
Beautifully situated in the North York Moors National Park a haven of tranquillity greets you as you descend into this valley from the Whitby/Scarborough road. A short walk brings you to the seaside cove of Boggle Hole where many years ago smugglers would land their boats at dead of night to offload their contraband. This beach, renowned for fossil hunting and rock pooling, stretches from the ancient fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay to the spectacular cliffs of Ravenscar. In the valley above the sea lie green fields which rise to meet the heather on the North York Moors. The old cinder railway track winds through the valley offering scenic views for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The Cleveland Way runs along the cliff top above Boggle Hole beach.
