Winterton Valley is situated in Winterton-On-Sea, on the Norfolk coastline. Winterton-On-Sea is a picturesque village a short stroll away, along Winterton Valley, dunes or beach. Winterton village has small local shops, a post office, church and a superb fish and chip shop. Its 300 year old village pub, The Fisherman's Return, is very popular with locals and visitors and offers a wide selection of traditional beers, wines and spirits and the restaurant has an excellent varied menu at reasonable prices. Winterton Valley Chalet Park is also close to the heart of the Norfolk Broads, where you can hire a boat to explore the famous waterways.

At the nearby Potter Heigham you can combine a boat trip with a visit to Latham's, a large village store with a difference, where you can buy almost anything at bargain prices.

The picturesque small town of Wroxham on the Broads is also well worth a visit. Here you will find cafes and restaurants by the riverside, where you can relax peacefully and enjoy a meal or just a coffee while watching the boats go by.

The popular, well known resort of Great Yarmouth is approximately nine miles away, and here you will find many well known shops and supermarkets, as well as a large outdoor market in the town centre on Wednesday and Saturdays, (also Fridays in the summer months). On Yarmouth's famous seafront, the 'Golden Mile', there are amusements, restaurants, Pleasure Beach and many other holiday attractions. Stroll along the Golden Mile, with it's two piers, the Brittania Pier, and the Wellington Pier, which has a theatre with well known artistes starring in the summer shows. Why not take a ride in a horse and carriage, between Brittannia Pier and the Pleasure Beach or join the hustle and bustle in the holiday shopping area, Regent Road, which runs from the town centre right down to the sea front with dozens of souvenir shops and restaurants. Pay a visit to the famous Docwra's Rock Shop, where you are welcomed in to watch the complete process of making sticks of rock.

Finally, the cathedral city of Norwich, capital of Norfolk is just 20 miles away for a full day of shopping, sightseeing or exploring this historic city.
